To start the Poulan Pro SM132 Trimmer, ensure the power switch is in the "on" position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, set the choke lever to the full choke position, and pull the starter rope briskly until the engine fires. Then, set the choke to half and pull again until the engine starts.
The recommended fuel mixture for the Poulan Pro SM132 Trimmer is a 40:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to two-cycle engine oil. Always use fresh fuel and mix thoroughly before filling the trimmer's tank.
If the trimmer line is not feeding properly, check for line entanglement, ensure the spool is correctly installed, and that there is enough line on the spool. Adjust or replace the trimmer line if necessary.
If the trimmer engine stalls after starting, check if the air filter is clean, the fuel is fresh, and the carburetor is properly adjusted. Cleaning or replacing the air filter and ensuring correct carburetor settings can resolve this issue.
Regular maintenance on the Poulan Pro SM132 Trimmer includes cleaning the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug if necessary, checking the fuel filter, and ensuring that all nuts and bolts are tight.
To replace the trimmer line, remove the spool by pressing the tabs on the spool cover, unwind any remaining line, and replace it with new line by following the directional arrows on the spool. Reassemble the head and ensure the line is properly threaded.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a bent shaft, damaged trimmer head, or unbalanced line. Inspect these components for damage and replace any faulty parts to reduce vibration.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling it, and replace the cover securely.
When storing the trimmer for an extended period, drain the fuel tank, clean the trimmer thoroughly, and store it in a dry, cool place. Consider adding a fuel stabilizer if the fuel will not be drained.
To enhance performance, regularly maintain the trimmer, use the correct fuel mixture, ensure the trimmer line is appropriately loaded, and keep the trimmer head clean and free of debris.
