To start the Poulan Pro PRRT850 Tiller, first ensure the fuel tank is filled with fresh gas. Set the choke to the 'closed' position, and push the primer bulb 5-6 times. Pull the starter handle briskly until the engine starts. Once started, gradually move the choke to the 'open' position.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting and cleaning the spark plug, and checking the tines for wear or damage. Ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened and clean the tiller after each use to prevent dirt buildup.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for fouling, and clean or replace it if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and the choke is in the correct position. Additionally, confirm that the safety switch is engaged.
Excessive vibration can be caused by loose parts or damaged tines. Check all bolts and screws to ensure they are tight. Inspect the tines for any signs of damage or wear and replace if needed. If the problem persists, consult a service professional.
To adjust the tilling depth, adjust the depth stake located at the rear of the tiller. Raise or lower the stake to achieve the desired tilling depth. Secure the stake in place with the provided pin or bolt.
The Poulan Pro PRRT850 Tiller is designed to run on unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
To store the tiller safely during the off-season, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the tiller thoroughly to remove any dirt and debris. Store it in a dry, sheltered area away from direct sunlight. Consider covering it with a tarp to protect it from dust and moisture.
Un-tilled patches may occur if the tines are worn or damaged. Check the tines for wear and replace them if necessary. Also, ensure that the tiller is moving at an appropriate speed and that the depth setting is correct for the soil type.
To change the oil, first ensure the engine is cool. Remove the oil fill cap and place a container under the oil drain plug. Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to completely drain out. Replace the drain plug, refill with the recommended oil type, and replace the oil fill cap.
Difficulty in controlling the tiller can be due to incorrect tine installation or balance. Ensure the tines are installed correctly and not damaged. Check the tire pressure and adjust if necessary. Additionally, ensure you're using the appropriate depth and speed settings for the soil conditions.
