Poulan Pro PRK17H42STA Operator's Manual

To start the Poulan Pro PRK17H42STA Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, place the throttle in the choke position, and turn the ignition key to the start position. Once the engine starts, move the throttle to the desired speed setting.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Ensure to check the oil level regularly and change it according to the maintenance schedule.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned every 25 hours of operation and replaced at least once per season or every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
If the tractor is not moving when in gear, check if the transmission drive belt is worn or broken, ensure the motion lever is fully engaged, and inspect the freewheel control to ensure it is in the engaged position.
To store the tractor for winter, clean the tractor thoroughly, perform necessary maintenance such as oil change and lubrication, add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, remove the battery and store it in a cool dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
If the engine is overheating, check for debris blocking the air intake, ensure the cooling fins are clean, verify proper engine oil level, and ensure the cooling fan is functioning correctly.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the tractor, and move it to the desired position. Ensure the deck is level for an even cut and adjust the anti-scalp wheels if necessary.
Uneven cutting can be caused by an unlevel mower deck, dull blades, or tires with uneven pressure. Check and adjust the deck level, sharpen or replace blades, and ensure tires are inflated to the recommended pressure.
For starting issues, verify the battery is charged, check all electrical connections for corrosion or looseness, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and check the fuel supply and fuel filter.
To change the blades, first ensure the tractor is on a flat surface and the engine is off. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, replace the blades with new ones, and tighten the bolts securely. Ensure the blades are installed with the correct side facing downward.
