Ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke to the 'full' position, and press the primer bulb three times. Pull the starter handle or use the electric start button if equipped. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the 'run' position.
Check the fuel level and ensure it is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Verify that the fuel valve is open and the choke is in the correct position. Additionally, ensure the safety key is properly inserted.
Regularly inspect the auger and impeller for damage or wear. Keep these components clean and free of debris. Lubricate the auger shaft with a suitable lubricant to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.
Run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to completely drain into a container. Replace the plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity, usually 5W-30, checking the level with the dipstick.
Loosen the bolts securing the skid shoes and adjust them to the desired height, based on the surface type. Tighten the bolts after adjustment. On gravel surfaces, set the skid shoes lower to prevent picking up stones.
Excessive vibration can be caused by damaged or unbalanced components. Inspect the auger, impeller, and all moving parts for damage. Tighten any loose nuts or bolts. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
To prevent clogging, avoid running the snow thrower at excessive speed and clear snow in a uniform pattern. Wet or heavy snow can contribute to clogging, so consider using a spray lubricant designed for snow throwers to help reduce sticking.
Use fresh, clean unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content as it can cause damage to the engine components.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Clean the snow thrower thoroughly, removing all debris and moisture. Lubricate moving parts and store in a dry, covered location. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure the drive control cable is properly adjusted and not broken. If these steps do not solve the issue, consult the user manual or a professional technician for further assistance.
