Ensure the battery is charged. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the 'Start' position. Hold the handle lever to keep the engine running.
Check the fuel level and battery charge. Ensure the spark plug is clean and connected. Verify the safety handle lever is engaged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum of 87 octane. Avoid ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced. Mow at the correct height for your grass type and adjust the wheel height settings accordingly.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Change the oil, clean the underside of the deck, and disconnect the battery. Store in a dry place.
Locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged, the deck is clogged, or the ground speed is too fast for the cutting conditions.
Inspect for a bent or unbalanced blade, loose parts, or debris on the blade or under the deck. Tighten or replace parts as needed.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug using a spark plug wrench, and install a new one with the correct gap. Reattach the wire.
