To start the Poulan Pro PPRT5C Tiller, ensure the unit is on a flat surface. Set the choke to the correct position, squeeze the throttle trigger, and pull the starter cord with a firm, steady motion until the engine starts.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 20 hours or at the beginning of each tilling season.
Check if the tine control is engaged. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure the engine is running at full throttle.
Adjust the depth stake at the rear of the tiller. Raise the stake to till deeper and lower it for shallower tilling.
Check the air filter before each use. Clean it every 25 hours of operation and replace it annually or if it shows signs of damage.
Ensure the tiller is moving forward while tilling, and avoid hard or rocky soil conditions. Adjust the depth stake to prevent the tines from digging too deep.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is on. Inspect the spark plug for damage or fouling, and clean or replace it if necessary. Verify that the choke is set correctly.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, clean the tiller, and store it in a dry location. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Follow the recommended maintenance schedule, use the correct fuel, store the tiller properly, and address any mechanical issues promptly.
