To start your Poulan Pro PPB350 trimmer, first ensure that the trimmer is on a flat surface. Switch the choke lever to the full choke position, then press the primer bulb 6 times. Pull the starter rope until the engine starts, then move the choke lever to the half choke position. Allow the engine to warm up before moving the choke lever to the run position.
The Poulan Pro PPB350 trimmer requires a fuel mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil at a ratio of 40:1. Use fresh, clean unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and a high-quality 2-cycle engine oil.
The air filter should be checked before each use and cleaned as necessary. Replace the air filter annually or more frequently if you operate the trimmer in dusty conditions.
If your trimmer won't start, check the fuel mixture to ensure it is correct. Check the spark plug for damage or fouling and replace if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and the choke is in the correct position. If it still won't start, it may require servicing by a professional.
To replace the trimmer line, first turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool from the trimmer head. Cut two lengths of line, about 15 feet each. Insert one end of each line into the holes on the spool and wind the lines in the direction indicated on the spool. Replace the spool and cover, then reconnect the spark plug.
Regular maintenance for your trimmer includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug as needed, checking the fuel filter, and replacing the trimmer line. It's also important to check for loose or damaged parts and clean the trimmer after each use.
To adjust the idle speed, locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor. Use a screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Adjust until the engine runs smoothly at idle without the trimmer head moving.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure you are using the correct diameter line as recommended by the manufacturer. Avoid hitting hard surfaces like concrete or rocks while trimming. Check for any sharp edges on the trimmer head that may be cutting the line.
To store your trimmer for the winter, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Clean the trimmer thoroughly and inspect it for any damage. Store the trimmer in a dry, cool place, and cover it to protect it from dust and debris.
Wear protective gear including safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection. Inspect the area for debris and obstacles before trimming. Keep bystanders and pets at a safe distance. Do not operate the trimmer in poor weather conditions or if you are tired or under the influence of substances.
