To start the Poulan Pro PPB335 Trimmer, ensure the on/off switch is in the "on" position, prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb 6 times, set the choke to full, and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. Once started, move the choke to the run position.
The Poulan Pro PPB335 Trimmer requires a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a 40:1 ratio. Always mix the fuel in a separate container before filling the trimmer's tank.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool and unwind any remaining line. Cut two lengths of line, insert them into the holes on the spool, and wind them in the direction indicated. Reattach the spool to the trimmer head.
If your trimmer won't start, check the fuel mixture, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Also, make sure the on/off switch is set to "on" and the choke is in the correct position for starting.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. Wash it with mild soap and water, let it dry completely, and then lightly oil it before reinstallation. Replace the cover securely.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug annually, checking and tightening all screws and nuts, and inspecting the fuel system for leaks or damage.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the trimmer thoroughly, inspect for any damage, and store it in a dry place. It is also advisable to remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure you are using the correct diameter line, avoid contact with hard surfaces, and check that the line is wound properly on the spool. Inspect the trimmer head for damage or wear as well.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws on the carburetor body. Use a screwdriver to turn the screws slightly while the engine is running until it runs smoothly. Refer to the manual for specific screw settings.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced trimmer head, loose screws, or a bent shaft. Inspect these components and tighten or replace them as necessary.
