To start the Poulan Pro PPB250E trimmer, ensure the trimmer is on a flat surface. Set the choke lever to the full choke position, press the primer bulb 6 times, and hold the throttle trigger. Pull the starter rope sharply until the engine starts, then move the choke to the run position.
Use a clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 combined with high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a ratio of 40:1. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels if possible.
To replace the trimmer line, first turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool from the trimmer head, wind the new line onto the spool, and reattach the spool to the head, following the directional arrows.
If the trimmer is not cutting properly, check if the trimmer line is worn or too short. Replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the line is properly extended and that the cutting guard is not damaged.
Clean the air filter every 5 hours of operation or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Remove the air filter cover, wash the filter in soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
If the engine is flooding, turn the choke to the "off" position, press the throttle fully, and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. If it doesn't start after a few attempts, remove the spark plug, dry it, and try again.
To store the trimmer for the winter, drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops, clean the trimmer thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Consider adding a fuel stabilizer for extended storage.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged or unbalanced cutting attachment. Check the trimmer head and line for damage, ensure they are properly installed, and replace any worn parts.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws on the carburetor body. Turn the screws slowly to adjust the idle speed and fuel mixture, testing the engine's response until optimal performance is achieved. Refer to the manual for specific settings.
If the trimmer won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and inspect the air filter for clogs. Ensure the choke is set correctly and the primer bulb is functioning.
