Poulan Pro PPB200E Operator's Manual

To start the Poulan Pro PPB200E Trimmer, ensure the On/Off switch is in the "On" position. Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, then set the choke lever to the full choke position. Pull the starter rope until the engine attempts to start, then move the choke to half position and pull again until it starts.
The Poulan Pro PPB200E Trimmer requires a mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil. Use a 40:1 fuel-to-oil ratio. Make sure the gasoline has an octane rating of 87 or higher, and use high-quality 2-cycle engine oil.
Replace the trimmer line when it becomes brittle, breaks frequently, or when the spool runs out. Typically, this maintenance should be done at the start of the trimming season or as needed during extensive use.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool by pressing the tabs on the spool cap. Cut two lengths of line, insert them into the holes in the spool, and wind them evenly. Reattach the spool and cap to the trimmer head.
If your PPB200E trimmer won't start, check the fuel level and ensure it's fresh and properly mixed. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or wear, and clean or replace it if necessary. Check air filters for blockage and clean them. Ensure the On/Off switch is in the "On" position.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting and replacing the trimmer line as needed, and checking for loose bolts or parts. Additionally, ensure the fuel mixture is fresh and at the correct ratio.
To improve performance, regularly clean or replace the air filter, use fresh, properly mixed fuel, and ensure the spark plug is in good condition. Keeping the trimmer head clean and free from debris also helps maintain optimal performance.
If the trimmer line frequently breaks, check for debris or obstructions that might be impacting the line. Ensure you are using the correct line diameter and type for your trimmer. It's also advisable to replace the line if it is old or brittle.
To store the trimmer, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Clean the trimmer thoroughly, inspect and replace any worn parts, and store it in a dry, sheltered location away from direct sunlight.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a misaligned or damaged trimmer head, loose parts, or an unbalanced trimmer line. Check the trimmer head for damage, ensure all bolts and parts are tight, and inspect the trimmer line to ensure it is evenly installed.
