To start the Poulan Pro PP930ES Snow Thrower, ensure the machine is on a flat surface, the choke is engaged, and the fuel valve is open. Pull the starter handle or use the electric start button to turn on the engine. Let it run for a few minutes before disengaging the choke.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
Check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and confirm the choke and throttle settings are correct. Verify that the safety key is inserted, and inspect the fuel lines for any blockages.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each snow season. Use a high-quality 4-stroke engine oil.
Regularly inspect the auger for any signs of wear, damage, or obstructions. Lubricate the auger shaft with a suitable lubricant as recommended in the owner's manual.
Clean the snow thrower thoroughly, remove fuel or add a stabilizer, change the oil, and store it in a dry, covered location. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
Check for clogged discharge chute or auger. Ensure the impeller and auger are not damaged. Adjust the skid shoes and scraper bar for the correct ground clearance.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug boot, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one with the correct gap setting. Reattach the spark plug boot securely.
Check the power source and ensure the extension cord is connected properly. Verify that the circuit breaker or fuse is not tripped. Inspect the starter motor connections for any loose wires.
Loosen the skid shoe bolts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, ensuring both sides are even, and retighten the bolts securely. This adjustment helps prevent damage to the auger and the clearing surface.
