To assemble the Poulan Pro PP5000P, first attach the pole sections together by aligning the couplings and securing them with the provided locking pins. Make sure the saw head is firmly connected to the pole and all parts are tightened.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the bar nuts slightly, then turn the tensioning screw clockwise to tighten or counterclockwise to loosen the chain. The chain should be snug against the bar but still move freely. Tighten the bar nuts once the tension is correct.
You should lubricate the chain and bar before each use and regularly during prolonged use. Use bar and chain oil specifically designed for chainsaws to ensure optimal performance.
The recommended fuel mixture for the Poulan Pro PP5000P is 40:1, which means 40 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-cycle engine oil. Make sure to use fresh, unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle oil.
If your pole saw won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the correct fuel mixture is used. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, make sure the air filter is clean and the choke is in the correct position.
Ensure that the chain tension is properly adjusted, and regularly check for wear or damage to the bar and chain. Replace any worn parts, and always ensure the bar nuts are securely tightened.
After use, clean the saw thoroughly, removing debris from the chain and bar. Check for any loose parts and tighten them as necessary. Lubricate the chain and bar, and inspect the air filter, cleaning or replacing it if needed.
To replace the chain, first ensure the pole saw is turned off and the spark plug is disconnected. Remove the bar nuts and the sprocket cover. Take off the old chain, place the new chain onto the bar, ensuring correct direction, then reassemble the sprocket cover and bar nuts. Adjust chain tension as needed.
Always wear protective gear including gloves, eye protection, and ear protection. Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders and obstructions. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, and never operate the saw above shoulder height.
Clean the saw thoroughly, remove any fuel, and store it in a dry location away from direct sunlight. Ensure the bar and chain are lubricated to prevent rust, and store the pole saw in a secure position to avoid any accidental damage.
