To start the Poulan Pro PP4620AVL chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, set the choke to 'full', press the primer bulb 6 times, pull the starter rope until the engine attempts to start, then set the choke to 'half' and pull again until the engine starts.
The recommended fuel mixture for the Poulan Pro PP4620AVL chainsaw is a 40:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to 2-cycle engine oil. Ensure the fuel is mixed thoroughly before filling the tank.
If the chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and mixture, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and confirm the choke and primer bulb are functioning. Replace any faulty parts.
Sharpen the chainsaw chain after every few hours of use or whenever you notice the cutting efficiency decreasing. Regular sharpening will prolong the chain's life and improve cutting performance.
After using the chainsaw, clean the bar and chain, check for any loose bolts or screws, inspect the air filter and clean or replace it if necessary, and ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated.
To tension the chain, loosen the bar nuts slightly, adjust the tensioning screw until the chain is snug against the bar but can still be pulled around by hand, and then retighten the bar nuts.
If the chain is not cutting properly, make sure it is sharp and properly tensioned. Check for any damage or wear on the chain and replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the chain is suitable for the type of wood you're cutting.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it is damaged or extremely dirty.
Chainsaw overheating can be caused by a dirty air filter, improper fuel mixture, a dull chain, or insufficient lubrication. Regular maintenance and ensuring proper lubrication can prevent overheating.
When storing the chainsaw, drain the fuel tank, clean the exterior and the bar and chain, loosen the chain tension to prevent stretching, and store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
