Ensure the chainsaw is on a flat surface, engage the chain brake, switch the on/off switch to the "on" position, and pull the starter rope until the engine starts.
Use a 40:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to 2-cycle engine oil. Ensure the gasoline has no more than 10% ethanol.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, wash it with warm soapy water, let it dry completely, and reinstall it.
Check the chain tension, make sure the chain is sharp, and inspect the guide bar for damage. Adjust or replace as necessary.
Sharpen the chain every time you refill the fuel tank, or sooner if the cutting performance decreases.
Check for clogged air filters, ensure the fuel is fresh, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Loosen the bar nuts, turn the tensioning screw until the chain fits snugly against the guide bar, then retighten the bar nuts.
Regularly clean the air filter, sharpen the chain, check the chain tension, inspect the spark plug, and ensure the guide bar is well-lubricated.
Remove the top cover, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one with the correct gap.
Always wear protective gear, keep a firm grip, maintain a balanced stance, and be aware of your surroundings to avoid kickback hazards.
