To start the Poulan Pro PP28CD Trimmer, ensure the trimmer is on a flat surface. Set the choke to the "full choke" position. Prime the bulb 6 times if the engine is cold. Pull the starter rope until the engine attempts to start, then move the choke to the "half choke" position. Pull the rope again until the engine starts. Allow it to warm up, then move the choke to the "run" position.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and a maximum ethanol content of 10%. Mix it with a high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a ratio of 40:1.
First, ensure the trimmer is off and unplugged. Remove the spool by pressing the tabs on the side. Cut a length of line about 25 feet long and insert it into the hole in the center of the spool. Wind the line tightly in the direction of the arrows on the spool, and secure it in the holding slots. Reattach the spool to the trimmer head.
If your trimmer stalls, it could be due to a clogged air filter, incorrect fuel mixture, or a dirty carburetor. Check and clean the air filter, ensure you are using the correct fuel mixture, and clean the carburetor if necessary.
Clean the air filter after every 5 hours of operation. Remove the cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
If the trimmer won't start, check the fuel tank to ensure it has fresh fuel. Verify the spark plug is clean and in good condition. Make sure the ignition switch is in the "on" position and that the choke is set correctly.
To store the trimmer, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the trimmer thoroughly, including the cutting head and air filter. Store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Check the air filter and clean it every 5 hours of use. Inspect and clean the spark plug every 25 hours. Replace the fuel filter every 100 hours or annually. Regularly check for loose fasteners and keep the trimmer clean.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws on the carburetor body. Turn the idle speed screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Fine-tune the settings to ensure smooth operation.
Wear protective eyewear, gloves, and long pants when operating the trimmer. Ensure the area is clear of bystanders and debris. Be aware of your surroundings, especially when trimming near obstacles.
