To start the Poulan Pro PP165E30 snow thrower, first ensure that the unit is on a level surface. Set the choke to the 'Full' position, insert the ignition key, and then pull the starter handle firmly. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the 'Run' position.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
If the snow thrower won't start, check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Make sure the choke is in the correct position and the throttle is set to 'Fast'.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each snow season, whichever comes first. Use SAE 5W-30 oil for best performance.
Check for any obstructions in the discharge chute and auger. Ensure the auger and impeller are not worn out or damaged. Adjust the chute to the desired angle for optimal distance.
To store the snow thrower, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the machine thoroughly and apply a light coat of oil to prevent rust. Store in a dry, covered location.
Before using the snow thrower for the first time in the season, check the oil level and condition, inspect belts and cables, and ensure the shear pins are intact. Test the controls and lubricate any moving parts.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting nuts and set the skid shoes to the desired height. Ensure both sides are even and retighten the nuts securely. This adjustment helps protect surfaces and ensures proper operation.
If the auger is not engaging, check the drive belt for wear or damage. Ensure the auger control cable is properly connected and adjusted. Replace any damaged components as necessary.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Install the new spark plug with the correct gap setting and reconnect the wire securely.
