To start the Poulan Pro PO500N22S mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb 3-5 times, then hold the handlebar lever and pull the starter cord firmly.
Check if there is fresh fuel in the tank and that the spark plug is connected properly. Ensure the air filter is clean and that the primer bulb has been pressed enough times. If it still doesn't start, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
It's recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use for new mowers, and then every 25 hours of use, or at least once per mowing season.
Use SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
To clean the mower deck, ensure the mower is turned off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a hose to rinse away grass clippings and debris from the underside of the deck. For stubborn buildup, use a scraper or a brush.
Remove the blades from the mower, secure them in a vice, and use a file or bench grinder to sharpen the cutting edges. Ensure to balance the blades before reinstalling them to prevent vibration.
Regularly sharpen the blades, ensure the engine is running smoothly, and adjust the cutting height according to the grass condition. Also, mow when the grass is dry for cleaner cuts.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose bolts, or damaged components. Check and tighten all bolts and ensure the blades are balanced and undamaged.
Clean the mower thoroughly, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and store it in a dry place. Cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
This could be due to dull blades, incorrect cutting height, or mowing too quickly. Sharpen the blades, adjust the cutting height, and mow at a steady, slower pace.
