To start the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the blade engagement lever is in the 'disengaged' position, and the throttle is set to the 'fast' position. Turn the key to the 'start' position and hold until the engine starts.
Check the battery for charge, ensure all safety switches are engaged, and verify that there is fuel in the tank. If these are all correct, inspect the spark plug and fuel line for issues.
The oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each season, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 oil above 32°F. Below 32°F, use SAE 5W-30 to ensure proper lubrication.
Use the lever located on the right side of the tractor to set the desired cutting height. Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface for accurate adjustment.
Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt and replace the blade. Ensure the blade is properly aligned and the bolt is tightened securely.
Check if the tire pressure is even, the deck is level, and the blade is sharp. Adjust or replace components as necessary to achieve a uniform cut.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them as needed. Ensure the battery is charged over the winter and store it in a cool, dry place if not in use.
Inspect the blades for damage, check for loose bolts or parts, and ensure the engine is properly mounted. Balance or replace blades if needed.
Locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine, remove the cover, and take out the old filter. Install a new filter and replace the cover securely.
