Poulan Pro PO17542STB Operator's Manual

To change the oil, first, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Place a container under the oil drain valve, open the valve, and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the drain cap, fill with new oil, and check the oil level with the dipstick.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 motor oil when operating in warmer temperatures. For colder conditions, use SAE 5W-30 oil to ensure proper lubrication.
To replace the drive belt, first, disconnect the spark plug. Lower the deck to its lowest position and remove the deck belt from the engine pulley. Remove the belt keepers and the belt from the transaxle pulley. Install the new belt by reversing these steps.
If the tractor doesn't start, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Also, verify the fuel level and that the fuel valve is open. Check for a clogged air filter or faulty spark plug.
To store the tractor, clean it thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor with a tarp or store it in a shed.
If the cut is uneven, check the tire pressure to ensure it is equal on both sides. Inspect the blades for damage or wear and sharpen or replace them if necessary. Adjust the deck level according to the manual instructions.
Blades should typically be sharpened every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to ensure a clean cut. Check the blades for nicks or dullness regularly.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 14 psi and for the rear tires is 10 psi. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
To troubleshoot vibration, inspect the blades for balance and ensure they are tightly secured. Check the deck for debris that might cause imbalance and inspect the belts for wear or damage.
To clean the air filter, first, remove the cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with soap and water, then allow it to dry. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove dirt or replace it if necessary. Reinstall the filter and secure the cover.
