To start the Poulan Pro PO15538LTX Tractor, first ensure the parking brake is engaged. Set the throttle control to the 'Fast' position, insert the key into the ignition, and turn it clockwise to start the engine. If the engine is cold, engage the choke before starting.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) to ensure optimal performance and protection of the engine.
You should change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes help prolong the life of the engine.
If the tractor does not move, check to ensure the transmission disengagement lever is in the correct position. It should be fully engaged. Also, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary.
To align the mower deck, park the tractor on a level surface. Adjust the deck lift lever to the desired height. Use a wrench to adjust the nuts on the deck's suspension arms until both sides of the deck are at the same height from the ground.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 14 PSI, and for the rear tires, it is 10 PSI. Maintaining proper tire pressure ensures better traction and extends tire life.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery terminals for corrosion and ensure they are tightly connected. Use a multimeter to check the battery voltage; it should be around 12.6 volts. Charge or replace the battery if the voltage is low.
To change the blades, first, disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting. Lift the mower deck and secure it. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, replace the blades, and tighten the bolts securely. Reconnect the spark plug once done.
For winter storage, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and fill the fuel tank with stabilized fuel. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To check and replace the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug. Inspect it for wear or damage. Replace it with a new one if necessary, ensuring it is gapped correctly. Reattach the spark plug wire.
