To change the oil, first, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Then, turn off the engine and remove the key. Place a container under the oil drain valve, open the valve, and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the drain cap, fill with new oil to the recommended level, and check for leaks.
Check if the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline and the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Ensure the battery is charged and cables are securely attached. If the problem persists, inspect the air filter and replace it if clogged.
Sharpen the mower blades at least once a season or after every 25 hours of use. Dull blades can tear the grass, leading to uneven cuts and lawn stress.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
After each use, remove grass clippings and debris from the deck using a garden hose or air blower. For a more thorough cleaning, disconnect the spark plug, tilt the mower carefully, and use a scraper to remove any caked-on debris.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades. Check for bent blades or debris accumulation under the deck. Ensure all bolts and screws are tight and secure.
Locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine. Remove the cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new one of the same type. Secure the cover back in place.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and maintaining battery charge. Perform these tasks according to the schedule in the user manual.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced, mow at the correct height, and mow when the grass is dry. Regularly clean the deck and ensure the engine is running smoothly.
Black smoke may indicate a clogged air filter or rich fuel mixture. Check and clean or replace the air filter and ensure the choke is operating correctly. If the issue persists, consult a professional.
