To change the oil, first run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Then, turn off the engine and remove the oil drain plug to let the old oil drain out completely. Replace the drain plug and add new oil through the fill tube, using the type and amount specified in the manual.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. If the battery is charged and connections are good, inspect the spark plug and replace it if necessary. Additionally, ensure there is enough fuel and that the fuel valve is open.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position. Ensure that the deck is level by adjusting the deck leveling screws if necessary.
Remove the mower deck and then the blades. Secure the blade in a vice and use a file or grinder to sharpen the blade edges evenly. Ensure the blade is balanced before reinstallation.
First, disconnect the battery and remove the mower deck. Release the tension on the belt by adjusting the belt tensioner. Remove the old belt and install the new one, ensuring it is routed correctly around all pulleys. Reinstall the deck and reconnect the battery.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and change the oil. Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Ensure that the blades are sharp and properly installed. Check the deck for obstructions and make sure it is level. Also, verify that the ground speed is appropriate for the grass conditions.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with soap and water, then allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove dirt or replace it if excessively dirty.
Check the blades for damage or imbalance. Inspect the drive belt for wear and replace if necessary. Ensure all mounting bolts and engine mounting bolts are tight.
Routine maintenance tasks such as checking and changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, and inspecting the blades should be done every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
