To change the oil, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface. Warm up the engine, then turn it off. Remove the oil fill cap and place a pan under the oil drain valve. Open the valve and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug, add new oil, and check the oil level with the dipstick.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Ensure the fuel is fresh and free of contaminants. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
First, check the PTO switch and ensure it's in the correct position. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Make sure the battery is charged and all electrical connections are secure.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 14 psi and for the rear tires is 10 psi. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
Sharpen the blades after every 20-25 hours of mowing or at least once per season. Dull blades can tear grass, resulting in an uneven cut.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position. Ensure the height is even on both sides of the deck for a uniform cut.
Check the battery connections and ensure they are tight and free of corrosion. Verify that the fuel valve is open and there's sufficient fuel. Inspect the spark plug and replace it if it's fouled or damaged.
Keep the tractor clean and dry. Wash it after each use, especially if you've been mowing in wet conditions. Apply a thin coat of oil or a rust-inhibiting spray to susceptible areas. Store in a dry, sheltered place.
Locate the air filter cover on the engine. Remove the cover and take out the old filter. Insert a new air filter and replace the cover. Ensure it's securely fastened.
Check and change the oil every 25 hours of use or annually. Inspect the air filter monthly and replace it as needed. Sharpen or replace blades every season or after 25 hours. Regularly check tire pressure and inspect belts for wear.
