To start the Poulan Pro GTI16 Super Trimmer, ensure the switch is in the 'On' position, press the primer bulb 6 times, set the choke lever to full choke, pull the starter rope briskly until the engine runs, then move the choke lever to half choke until the engine warms up.
Use a fuel mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle oil at a ratio of 40:1. Ensure the gasoline is no older than 30 days to prevent fuel system issues.
Turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool, insert the new line into the hole in the spool, wind it in the direction indicated, and replace the spool in the trimmer head.
Check if the fuel is fresh and properly mixed, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the choke and primer bulb are functioning correctly.
Clean the air filter every 5 hours of operation. Remove it from the trimmer, wash it in soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry before reinstalling.
Empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops, clean the trimmer thoroughly, inspect for any damage, and store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
Locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor, start the trimmer, and turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it until the engine runs smoothly at idle.
Ensure the trimmer line is the correct diameter, avoid contact with hard surfaces, and check that the trimmer head is in good condition. Replace the line if it is old or brittle.
Ensure proper ventilation by cleaning the cooling fins and air intake regularly, use the correct fuel mixture, and avoid running the trimmer at full throttle for extended periods.
Regularly check and clean the air filter, inspect and replace the spark plug as needed, clean the cooling fins, and ensure the trimmer line and head are in good condition.
