To start the Poulan Pro FT825 Tiller, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Set the choke lever to the "Choke" position, turn the fuel valve on, and set the throttle to the "Start" position. Pull the starter cord until the engine starts, then gradually move the choke lever to the "Run" position.
Regular maintenance for the FT825 includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning the air filter, inspecting and tightening bolts, and checking the tines for wear. It's also important to clean dirt and debris from the machine after each use.
If the tiller won't start, check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, inspect the air filter for clogs, and verify that the choke and throttle settings are correct. Also, ensure the fuel valve is turned on.
Excessive vibration may be caused by loose bolts, worn tines, or an unbalanced tiller. Check and tighten all bolts, inspect tines for wear or damage, and ensure the machine is on a level surface during operation.
To adjust the tine depth, locate the depth stake at the rear of the tiller. Remove the pin, slide the stake to the desired depth position, and reinsert the pin to secure it. Adjust the depth based on soil conditions and tilling requirements.
The Poulan Pro FT825 Tiller is designed to run on unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
It's recommended to change the oil in your FT825 Tiller after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or once per season, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
If the engine stalls, check for fuel supply issues, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the throttle and choke settings are correct. Also, check for any debris obstructing the tines or other moving parts.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the machine thoroughly, check for any needed repairs, and store it in a dry, covered location to protect it from the elements.
Always wear protective gear, such as gloves and eye protection. Keep bystanders at a safe distance, avoid loose clothing, and ensure the area is clear of debris. Always read the operator's manual thoroughly before use and follow all safety guidelines.
