To start the Poulan Pro ES350 Chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, switch the ignition to 'on', set the choke to full, and pull the starter rope until the engine attempts to start. Then, move the choke to half position and pull again until the engine starts.
If your chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Also, inspect the starter rope for damage.
Regularly sharpen the chain using a chainsaw file, ensure proper tension, and lubricate it with bar oil. Clean any debris from the chain and guide bar after each use.
Uneven cutting may result from a dull chain, unevenly sharpened teeth, or incorrect chain tension. Sharpen the chain evenly and adjust the tension according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil specifically designed for chainsaws to ensure proper lubrication and performance. Avoid using motor oil as it may not adhere properly to the chain.
Clean the air filter after every 5 hours of use or more frequently in dusty conditions. Remove it carefully, wash it with warm soapy water, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Check for clogged fuel lines, dirty air filters, or a faulty spark plug. Ensure the carburetor is adjusted correctly and that the fuel mixture is fresh and properly mixed.
Loosen the bar nuts slightly, and adjust the tensioning screw until the chain is snug against the guide bar but can still be pulled around by hand. Tighten the bar nuts securely after adjustment.
Excessive smoke can result from an incorrect fuel mixture, using old fuel, or a clogged air filter. Ensure a 40:1 fuel-to-oil ratio and replace old fuel. Clean or replace the air filter if necessary.
Regularly maintain your chainsaw by cleaning it, sharpening the chain, checking and replacing the spark plug and air filter, and ensuring proper lubrication. Store it in a dry place and follow the manufacturer's guidelines for use and maintenance.
