To start your Poulan Pro Economy Push Rotary Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the oil level is adequate, and the spark plug is connected. Then, press the primer bulb several times, set the throttle control to the start position, and pull the starter rope firmly.
The air filter should be checked before each use and cleaned or replaced if necessary. Clean the foam filter with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry before reinstallation.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then after every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
Ensure the blade is sharp and balanced. An uneven cut might also be due to improper wheel height settings or mowing too quickly. Check and adjust the wheel height and mower speed accordingly.
To prevent stalling, ensure the fuel is fresh and the air filter is clean. Avoid mowing wet or overly tall grass, and keep the underside of the deck clear of debris buildup.
Begin by disconnecting the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Install the new spark plug by hand, ensuring it’s seated well, then tighten with the wrench and reconnect the wire.
Clean the mower thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry, sheltered place. Remove the battery if applicable, and cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure the drive control cable is properly adjusted and not damaged. Lubricate the drive mechanism as recommended in the user manual.
It's best to avoid mowing wet grass as it can cause clogging, uneven cuts, and potential engine strain. Wait for the grass to dry to ensure optimal mower performance and longevity.
