To start the Poulan Pro EBVM 215 Vacuum, ensure that the unit is on a flat surface. Set the choke to the full position if the engine is cold, then press the primer bulb 6 times. Pull the starter rope with a fast and steady motion until the engine starts. Once started, move the choke to the run position.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and a high-quality 2-cycle oil at a 40:1 ratio. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
If the vacuum isn't picking up debris effectively, check the collection bag for clogs or fullness. Ensure the blower tube is clear of obstructions, and inspect the impeller for damage or blockage. Clean or replace parts as necessary.
To convert to blower mode, switch off the unit and disconnect the spark plug for safety. Remove the vacuum tubes and collection bag. Attach the blower tube securely to the blower outlet before reattaching the spark plug.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 5 hours of use. Replace the air filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty. Regular maintenance ensures optimal engine performance.
Difficulty starting the vacuum could be due to a dirty air filter, old fuel, or a fouled spark plug. Clean or replace the air filter, use fresh fuel, and check the spark plug for wear or carbon build-up.
If the engine stalls, check the fuel level and ensure the air filter is clean. Inspect the fuel lines for clogs and verify the spark plug condition. Restart the engine following the starting procedure.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the unit thoroughly, remove any debris, and store in a dry, sheltered location. Consider removing the spark plug and adding a few drops of oil to the cylinder for lubrication.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, clearing debris from the impeller and tubes, and ensuring all screws and nuts are tightened. Regularly inspect the fuel line for leaks or cracks.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug. Install a new, properly gapped spark plug, and reattach the spark plug wire securely.
