To start the Poulan Pro CHDF550B Tiller, first ensure that the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline. Set the choke lever to the "Choke" position, pull the starter rope briskly, and once the engine starts, move the choke lever to the "Run" position.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than 10%.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each season, whichever comes first.
Check for fuel issues, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the choke is in the correct starting position.
To adjust the tilling depth, use the adjustable depth stake located at the rear of the tiller. Move the stake up for deeper tilling and down for shallower tilling.
Drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops, change the oil, remove and clean the spark plug, and store the tiller in a dry place.
Check for a clogged air filter, contaminated fuel, or a dirty spark plug. Replace or clean these components as necessary.
Ensure the tiller is turned off, the fuel valve is closed, and it is securely fastened to prevent movement during transport.
Regularly clear the area of rocks and large debris before tilling, and periodically stop and clean the tines during operation if needed.
Check for loose or damaged bolts, worn tines, or an unbalanced load. Tighten, replace, or adjust components as necessary.
