To start the Poulan Pro BVM200 Blower, ensure the fuel tank is filled with the correct fuel mixture. Set the choke lever to the "Full Choke" position, prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb 5-6 times, then pull the starter rope until the engine attempts to start. Move the choke to the "Half Choke" position and pull again until the engine starts. Once started, move the choke to the "Run" position.
The Poulan Pro BVM200 Blower requires a 40:1 fuel mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil. Use fresh, clean gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87, and ensure the oil is formulated for air-cooled 2-cycle engines.
If the blower won't start, check the following: ensure the fuel tank has the correct fuel mixture, the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, the air filter is clean, and the choke is in the correct position. If these are all correct, check for fuel reaching the carburetor and the condition of the recoil starter.
If the engine is running rough, check for a clogged air filter or spark plug. Clean or replace them as necessary. Ensure the fuel mixture is correct and that the fuel is fresh. If the issue persists, the carburetor may need adjustment or cleaning.
The air filter should be checked before each use. Clean it if it appears dirty, and replace it if it is damaged or excessively dirty. Regular maintenance will ensure optimal performance of the blower.
To store the blower for an extended period, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to remove any remaining fuel. Clean the blower thoroughly, remove the spark plug, and add a few drops of 2-cycle oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter rope to distribute the oil. Store in a dry location.
The correct spark plug gap for the Poulan Pro BVM200 Blower is 0.025 inches (0.635 mm). Make sure the spark plug is clean and the gap is properly set to ensure efficient engine performance.
To replace the spark plug, first ensure the blower is turned off and cooled down. Remove the spark plug boot, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug, check the gap on the new spark plug, and install it by hand to avoid cross-threading. Tighten with a wrench and reattach the boot.
After each use, clean the exterior of the blower, check and clean the air filter if necessary, inspect the fuel lines for leaks, and ensure all nuts and bolts are tight. Regular inspections will help maintain the blower's performance and longevity.
To increase the longevity of your blower, perform regular maintenance such as cleaning the air filter, replacing the spark plug annually, using the correct fuel mixture, and storing it properly. Avoid using old or contaminated fuel, and always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
