Use an unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89 and mix it with a high-quality 2-cycle oil at a 50:1 ratio. Ensure the mixture is thoroughly mixed in an appropriate container before adding it to the blower.
It is recommended to check and clean the air filter after every 5 hours of use. Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Ensure that the fuel mixture is fresh and correct. Check the spark plug for fouling or damage and replace if necessary. Also, ensure the air filter is clean and the fuel lines are not clogged.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting the fuel filter, and ensuring all screws and bolts are tight. Regularly inspect the blower for any signs of wear or damage.
Check the air filter and spark plug for cleanliness and proper installation. Ensure the fuel mixture is correct. Inspect the carburetor for blockages and clean if necessary. Adjust the carburetor settings if the blower is still not performing optimally.
Before storing, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the blower thoroughly and check for any needed repairs. Store the blower in a dry, cool place, and cover it to protect from dust and debris.
Excessive vibration may be caused by loose parts or a damaged impeller. Check that all screws and bolts are tightened and inspect the impeller for damage or imbalance. Repair or replace parts as necessary.
The Poulan Pro BP406 Blower is designed for dry leaves and debris. Using it on wet leaves may decrease performance and increase the risk of clogging. It is advisable to wait until leaves are dry for optimal performance.
To replace the spark plug, first ensure the engine is cool. Remove the spark plug boot and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Install the new spark plug, ensuring it is properly gapped, and tighten it securely. Reattach the spark plug boot.
