To start your Poulan Pro BP402 Blower, ensure the fuel tank is filled with the correct fuel mixture. Set the choke lever to the closed position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. Once started, move the choke lever to the open position.
The correct fuel mixture for the Poulan Pro BP402 Blower is 40:1, which means 3.2 ounces of two-stroke engine oil per gallon of gasoline. Always use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher.
If your blower won't start, check that the fuel tank has the correct fuel mixture, inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the ignition switch is in the "on" position.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 5 hours of operation. If operating in dusty conditions, clean it more frequently. Replace the air filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
Inspect the spark plug after every 25 hours of use. Clean any deposits from the plug using a wire brush and check the electrode gap. Replace the spark plug every season or if the electrodes are worn.
For off-season storage, empty the fuel tank and run the blower until the engine stops. Clean the blower thoroughly and store it in a dry place. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter rope slowly to distribute the oil.
Excessive vibration can be caused by loose parts, damaged impellers, or debris in the fan housing. Inspect and tighten all fasteners, remove any debris from the housing, and check for damage to internal components.
If the blower loses power, check the fuel supply and ensure the air filter is clean. Inspect the exhaust for blockages and verify that the spark plug is in good condition. Carburetor adjustments may also be necessary.
To reduce noise, ensure the blower is running at optimal performance by maintaining all components such as the air filter and exhaust system. Use the blower at lower throttle settings when full power is not required.
Always wear hearing protection, goggles, and gloves when operating the blower. Keep bystanders at a safe distance and avoid operating the blower in poorly ventilated areas to prevent inhalation of fumes.
