Poulan Pro BH2160 LE Operator's Manual

To start the Poulan Pro BH2160 LE chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, set the on/off switch to the 'on' position, pull the choke lever out, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, and then pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts. Once started, push the choke lever back in to allow the chainsaw to idle.
Use a fuel mixture of unleaded gasoline and a high-quality 2-cycle engine oil in a 40:1 ratio. Ensure the gasoline has no more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
If the chainsaw won't start, check that the fuel tank has the correct fuel mixture, the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and the air filter is not clogged. Additionally, ensure that the on/off switch is set to 'on' and the choke is in the correct position for starting.
If the chain is not rotating, ensure the chain brake is disengaged. Check for any obstructions or debris around the bar and chain, and ensure the chain tension is adjusted correctly.
To adjust the chain tension, turn off the chainsaw and let it cool. Loosen the bar nuts slightly, adjust the tension screw until the chain is snug with a slight gap, then retighten the bar nuts securely.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and cleaning the spark plug, inspecting the chain for wear or damage, and ensuring the chain is properly lubricated. Regularly check the fuel filter and replace as necessary.
To store the chainsaw, clean it thoroughly, drain the fuel tank, and run the engine until it stops. Store the chainsaw in a dry, cool place, ideally with the chain and bar removed and lightly oiled to prevent rust.
Excessive smoking may be due to an incorrect fuel mixture or using old fuel. Ensure the correct 40:1 gasoline to oil ratio and replace with fresh fuel if necessary. Check for any obstructions in the exhaust.
Always wear protective gear, including gloves, eye and ear protection, and sturdy boots. Ensure the work area is clear of obstacles and bystanders. Always use both hands when operating the chainsaw and maintain a firm grip.
To improve performance, regularly sharpen the chain, ensure the air filter is clean, use fresh fuel, and regularly inspect and replace worn parts. Properly tension and lubricate the chain for optimal operation.
