To start the snow blower, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, set the choke to full, and turn the ignition key. Pull the starter handle or press the electric start button if available.
Check for any obstructions in the auger or discharge chute. Ensure the auger drive belt is intact and properly tensioned. Adjust the chute deflector if needed.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each season. Use the recommended oil type specified in the manual.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
To replace shear pins, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Remove any broken pins from the auger, align the holes, and insert new shear pins. Secure them with cotter pins.
Excessive vibration may be due to loose or damaged parts. Check and tighten all nuts and bolts, inspect the auger and impeller for damage, and ensure the engine is securely mounted.
Adjust the skid shoes to raise the auger housing slightly, allowing for better clearance. Consider using a slower ground speed for more efficient clearing.
Clean the snow blower thoroughly, change the oil, drain or stabilize the fuel, and lubricate all moving parts. Store the machine in a dry, sheltered location.
Loosen the mounting nuts on the skid shoes, adjust them to the desired height (typically 1/4 inch above the ground), and retighten the nuts securely.
Ensure the choke is fully engaged, use the primer bulb as instructed, and check the spark plug for wear or damage. Consider using a fuel stabilizer to prevent gumming.
