To start your Poulan Pro 2050WT chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, move the choke lever to the full choke position, and pull the starter rope until the engine attempts to start. Then, move the choke to the half position and pull the starter rope again until the engine starts.
The correct fuel mixture for the Poulan Pro 2050WT is a 40:1 ratio of gasoline to 2-cycle engine oil. Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and a high-quality synthetic 2-cycle oil.
To adjust the chain tension, first, turn off the chainsaw and ensure it is cool. Loosen the bar nuts slightly, use the chain tensioning screw to adjust the tension, then retighten the bar nuts securely. The chain should be snug, with no sag, but still move freely.
If your chainsaw chain is not cutting properly, check if the chain is sharp and properly tensioned. Ensure the depth gauges are correctly set. If needed, sharpen the chain using a round file or have it professionally sharpened.
It is recommended to clean the air filter after every 5 hours of use or sooner if operating in dusty conditions. Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and adjusting chain tension, sharpening the chain, inspecting the spark plug, and ensuring the bar and chain oil reservoir is filled. Regularly inspect the chainsaw for any signs of wear or damage.
A chainsaw that stalls could be due to an incorrect fuel mixture, a clogged air filter, or a dirty carburetor. Ensure the fuel mixture is correct, clean the air filter, and consider cleaning or adjusting the carburetor if necessary.
To replace the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug boot. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug and adjust if necessary, then install the new spark plug and reconnect the boot.
Use a high-quality bar and chain oil, which is designed to adhere to the chain and bar, providing optimal lubrication and reducing wear. Avoid using motor oil or other substitutes as they may not provide adequate lubrication.
If the chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh and properly mixed. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, make sure the air filter is clean and the carburetor is not clogged.
