Poulan Pro 1616 Operator's Manual

To start the Poulan Pro 1616 chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, move the choke to the 'full' position, and pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Then, move the choke to the 'half' position and pull again until the engine starts.
Poulan Pro 1616 chainsaw requires a fuel mix ratio of 40:1, which means 40 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-cycle oil.
If the chainsaw won't start, check for a fresh fuel mix, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and confirm that the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the on/off switch is set to 'on'.
The air filter should be cleaned after every 5 hours of use or more frequently if you are operating in dusty conditions.
To maintain proper chain tension, loosen the bar nuts slightly, adjust the tension screw until the chain fits snugly against the bar with no slack, then tighten the bar nuts securely.
To replace the chain, first ensure the chainsaw is off, remove the bar nuts and the clutch cover, take off the old chain, fit the new chain over the bar and sprocket, and reassemble the clutch cover and nuts.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil designed for chainsaws, which provides proper lubrication and cooling during operation.
A chain may dull quickly due to cutting dirty wood, hitting rocks or metal, or improper sharpening angles. Regularly inspect and sharpen the chain to maintain optimal performance.
For storage, clean the saw thoroughly, empty the fuel tank, and run the carburetor dry. Store in a dry place and ensure the chain is lightly oiled to prevent rust.
If the chain oiler is not working, check the oil tank for clogs, ensure the oil hole in the bar is clean, and inspect the oil pump for proper operation. Clean or replace parts as necessary.
