Polaris 650 RMK Khaos Matryx Slash 146 User's Guide

To ensure optimal performance, follow a break-in period of the first 10 hours of operation. During this period, avoid prolonged operation at full throttle and vary engine speed frequently. Check all fluid levels and inspect the snowmobile for any loose components.
If the snowmobile won't start, first check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plugs and replace them if fouled or worn. Verify that the battery is charged and the connections are secure.
Prior to storage, clean the snowmobile thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the snowmobile to protect it from dust and debris.
The chaincase oil should be changed every 500 miles or at the beginning of each season, whichever comes first. This helps ensure the longevity of the chain and sprockets.
The track tension should be adjusted so that there is approximately 3/8 inch of slack when measured midway between the track clips. Ensure the snowmobile is on a flat surface when checking tension.
To enhance fuel efficiency, regularly maintain your snowmobile, including changing the air filter and spark plugs. Keep the track properly tensioned and aligned, and avoid excessive idling.
If the snowmobile overheats, stop immediately to let it cool down. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not blocked with snow or debris. Inspect the thermostat and replace it if necessary.
Adjust the suspension by altering the preload on the front and rear shocks based on rider weight and trail conditions. Consult the owner's manual for specific settings and ensure both sides are adjusted equally.
Common issues include belt slippage and wear. These can be prevented by ensuring proper belt tension and alignment, as well as regularly inspecting the belt for signs of wear or damage. Replace the belt if necessary.
To replace the spark plugs, first remove the engine cover. Disconnect the spark plug wires and use a spark plug socket to remove the old plugs. Install the new plugs by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten them with the socket. Reattach the spark plug wires securely.
