To attach the Olympus UFL-2 case, ensure the mounting bracket is securely fastened to the camera housing, then align the case with the bracket and tighten the screws to secure it in place. Make sure all seals are clean and free of debris to maintain waterproof integrity.
First, check the battery level and ensure it is adequately charged. Inspect the sync cord for any signs of damage or disconnection. Make sure the flash settings on the camera are correctly configured to trigger the external flash.
To prevent fogging, insert moisture-absorbing silica gel packets inside the case before sealing it. Ensure the case is closed in a dry, cool environment to minimize humidity inside the case.
After using the case in saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water to remove any salt deposits. Dry it completely with a soft cloth and store it in a cool, dry place. Regularly check the O-rings for signs of wear or damage and apply silicone grease as needed.
Open the case and carefully remove the old O-ring by gently lifting it with your fingers, avoiding any sharp objects. Clean the O-ring groove and apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the new O-ring before fitting it into the groove. Ensure it is seated evenly without any twists.
The Olympus UFL-2 is compatible with AA alkaline, AA NiMH, or AA lithium batteries. For optimal performance and longer usage times, it is recommended to use high-capacity NiMH rechargeable batteries.
To test the waterproof integrity, perform a test dive without the camera inside. Close the case securely and immerse it in water, checking for any bubbles or water ingress. If any leaks are detected, inspect the seals and O-rings for damage or improper seating.
If the controls become stiff or unresponsive, rinse the case in fresh water to remove any debris or salt build-up. Check that all control shafts are free of corrosion and apply a small amount of silicone grease to the control shafts if necessary.
The Olympus UFL-2 case is specifically designed for the Olympus UFL-2 flash. Using it with other flash units is not recommended as it may not fit properly, potentially compromising the waterproof seal and functionality.
Regular maintenance is key to ensuring the waterproof integrity of the Olympus UFL-2 case. This includes inspecting and replacing O-rings as needed, cleaning the case thoroughly after each use, and storing it in a dry environment. Performing routine waterproof tests and keeping the case free of any physical damage will also help maintain its capabilities.
