To set the Olympus TG-2 to macro mode, turn the mode dial to the microscope symbol. This allows you to focus on subjects as close as 1 cm from the lens.
First, ensure the battery is charged and properly inserted. If the camera still doesn’t turn on, try removing the battery and memory card, wait a few minutes, and then reinsert them. If the problem persists, contact Olympus support.
To reset the camera to factory settings, go to the menu, select 'Setup', and then choose 'Reset'. Confirm the reset to restore default settings.
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the lens. Avoid using any alcohol-based cleaners. For stubborn spots, slightly dampen the cloth with water.
You can transfer photos by connecting the camera to your computer using a USB cable. Alternatively, remove the SD card and use a card reader.
Blurriness can occur due to low light or incorrect focus. Ensure you are using the underwater mode and that the lens is clean. Holding the camera steady can also help reduce blur.
To extend battery life, reduce the use of the LCD screen, disable Wi-Fi when not in use, and keep the camera in airplane mode when not shooting. Carrying a spare battery is also recommended.
In cold weather, keep the camera warm in an inner pocket when not in use. Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent condensation, and ensure the battery is fully charged as cold can reduce battery performance.
To enable GPS logging, go to the camera menu, select 'GPS Settings', and then turn on the GPS logging feature. Ensure the camera has a clear view of the sky for optimal GPS signal.
To update the firmware, download the Olympus Digital Camera Updater software from the Olympus website, connect your camera to the computer, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
