To properly seal the Olympus PT-042 Case, ensure the O-ring is clean and free from debris. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the O-ring. Close the case carefully, making sure there are no obstructions, and latch it securely.
To prevent fogging, use anti-fog inserts inside the case. Ensure the camera and case are at room temperature before sealing. Store the case in a cool, dry environment when not in use.
To test for leaks, seal the empty case and submerge it in a basin of water for several minutes. Check for bubbles escaping from the case and inspect the interior for any water ingress.
Regularly inspect the O-ring for any signs of wear or damage. Clean it with fresh water and dry it thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to ensure a proper seal. Replace the O-ring if it shows signs of deterioration.
Rinse the exterior of the case thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Dry the exterior before unlatching. This helps prevent salt crystals from entering the seal.
The Olympus PT-042 Case is rated for a maximum depth of 40 meters (approximately 131 feet). Always adhere to this limit to avoid damaging the case or camera.
The PT-042 Case can be used in cold temperatures, but it is important to avoid rapid temperature changes to prevent condensation. Allow the case to acclimate gradually to the water temperature.
Rinse the case in fresh water, pressing all buttons repeatedly to clear any debris or salt. If the problem persists, inspect the button mechanisms for damage and consider professional servicing.
Store the PT-042 Case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure it is completely dry and the O-ring is removed to prevent compression over time.
After use in chlorinated water, rinse the case thoroughly with fresh water to remove chlorine residues. This helps prevent material degradation and maintains the integrity of the seals.
