To start the Murray 7800532 Tractor, ensure that the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the transmission is in neutral. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that there is fuel in the tank and that the fuel valve is open. Also, make sure the spark plug is in good condition and properly connected.
For optimal performance, change the oil in your Murray 7800532 Tractor every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of the mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for general operation in temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For temperatures below 32°F (0°C), consider using SAE 5W-30 for better cold starting.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired height setting. Ensure the adjustment is even on both sides for a uniform cut.
Check if the blades are sharp and properly balanced. Inspect the deck for any debris or damage that may obstruct blade movement. Ensure that the deck is level by checking and adjusting the deck hangers if necessary.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them as needed. Ensure the battery is securely mounted and that the fluid levels are adequate. During off-season storage, disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Remove the mower deck and detach the belt from the engine pulley, followed by the idler pulleys. Install the new belt by following the reverse procedure, ensuring the belt is routed correctly.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it’s a paper filter, gently tap it to remove dirt. For foam filters, wash with soap and water, then allow it to dry before re-oiling. Replace the filter and cover once clean.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting and cleaning the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight. Additionally, lubricate moving parts as specified in the manual.
