Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the throttle is set to the correct position. Turn the key to the start position and release once the engine starts.
Check the battery for charge and connections for corrosion. Ensure the fuel tank has fuel, and the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each season, whichever comes first. Refer to the manual for the correct type of oil.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position to change the cutting height. Always adjust with the engine off.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them with a wire brush if necessary. Ensure the battery is fully charged and refill with distilled water if needed.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Check the tire pressure for consistency and inspect the deck level. Make necessary adjustments following the guidelines in the manual.
Stop the tractor and allow the engine to cool. Check the cooling fins and air vents for blockages. Ensure the oil and coolant levels are adequate.
Park the tractor on a flat surface and disconnect the spark plug. Use a socket wrench to remove the blade bolts. Install the new blades and tighten the bolts securely.
Check the air filter every 25 hours of operation. Clean it with compressed air if it's paper, or wash and oil it if it's a foam filter. Replace if excessively dirty or damaged.
Clean the tractor and remove any debris. Drain the fuel or add a stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
