To start the Murray 7800529 Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the throttle is set to the choke position if the engine is cold. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine starts.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes checking the oil level before each use, changing the oil every 50 hours, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, and checking the blades for sharpness regularly.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plug for wear, and verify that the safety switches are functioning correctly.
Use SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F and 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F. Always check the owner's manual for specific oil recommendations.
To change the blades, ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, disconnect the spark plug, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades, ensuring they are properly aligned and tightened securely.
Check the tire pressures to ensure they are equal, inspect the blades for sharpness and damage, and ensure the deck is level. Adjust if necessary following the instructions in the manual.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Store the tractor in a dry, covered area.
Inspect the blades for balance and damage, check the engine mounts, and ensure all bolts and connections are tight. Uneven tire pressure can also cause vibrations.
Park the tractor on a level surface, measure the height of the blades from the ground, and adjust the deck height levers until the deck is level from side to side and front to back.
Use a hose to wash away grass clippings and debris from the underside of the deck. Avoid using high-pressure washers near the engine. Dry the tractor thoroughly to prevent rust.
