To start the Murray 46569x71A Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, set the throttle to the 'fast' position, and turn the ignition key to the 'start' position until the engine fires up. Release the key immediately after starting.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the plug and fill the engine with new oil, checking the level with the dipstick.
Check the battery connections, ensuring they are clean and tight. Verify that there is enough fuel in the tank and that the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, replacing it if necessary.
Ensure the mower deck is level and check the blades for sharpness and balance. Examine the tires for even pressure and replace any worn-out deck components. Adjust the deck height as needed for an even cut.
Sharpen the blades at least once per mowing season, or more frequently if you notice a decline in cutting performance or if you hit debris while mowing.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with soapy water if it's a foam filter. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. For paper filters, gently tap to remove debris or replace if excessively dirty.
Keep the battery terminals clean and free of corrosion. Check the electrolyte level regularly if applicable, and ensure the battery is securely mounted. Charge the battery during long periods of inactivity.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, replacing air and fuel filters, sharpening blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting belts and cables for wear.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and remove any fuel with a stabilizer or run the engine until it stops. Store the tractor in a dry place and disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.
