To start the Murray 46568x6A Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the transmission is in neutral, and the PTO is off. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position. Once the engine starts, release the key to the 'Run' position.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank has fuel, and confirm that the spark plug is in good condition. Also, make sure the safety switches are engaged.
It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each season, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
The Murray 46568x6A Tractor is designed to run on regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels if possible.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the chassis of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, ranging from 1 to 4 inches, to achieve the preferred cutting height.
Regular maintenance tasks include checking the oil level, inspecting the air filter, cleaning the mower deck, sharpening the blades, and lubricating the moving parts. Perform these tasks before each use or as indicated in the user manual.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, a clogged mower deck, or uneven tire pressure. Sharpen the blades, clean the deck, and check tire pressure to resolve the issue.
If the engine overheats, turn it off immediately and allow it to cool. Check for debris blocking the air intake or cooling fins, and ensure the oil level is adequate. Restart the engine once it has cooled.
To replace the mower belt, first disengage the PTO and turn off the engine. Remove the mower deck and release the belt tensioner. Take off the old belt and install a new one, following the belt routing diagram provided in the manual. Reinstall the mower deck.
Always wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves and safety glasses. Keep children and pets away from the operating area. Avoid mowing on steep inclines and ensure all safety switches are functional.
