Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to fast, and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the battery connections, ensure there's fuel in the tank, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, and ensuring the blades are sharp and balanced.
Use the lever located near the seat to adjust the cutting height to the desired level, ranging from 1 to 4 inches.
Check the blade engagement cable for tension and inspect the PTO switch for proper operation.
Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then remove the drain plug and oil filter. Replace the filter and refill with the recommended oil type.
Always wear appropriate protective gear, keep bystanders away, and never operate the tractor on steep slopes.
Check to ensure the tires are inflated evenly, the deck is level, and the blades are sharp and balanced.
Inspect for debris caught in the blades, check for bent blades, and ensure all bolts and connections are tight.
Locate the spark plug wire and remove it, use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the old plug, then install the new plug and reattach the wire.
