To start the Murray 46379A Tractor, ensure the PTO is disengaged, the parking brake is set, and the transmission is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release the key.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank is not empty, and verify that the spark plug is in good condition. If problems persist, consult the owner’s manual or a professional technician.
It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first. Always use the type of oil specified in the owner’s manual.
To adjust the cutting deck, park the tractor on a level surface, lower the deck to the desired height using the deck lift lever, and ensure both sides are at the same height for an even cut.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent damage to the engine.
Check that the tire pressure is even on all wheels, ensure the blades are sharp and not damaged, and confirm the deck is level. Adjustments may be needed if the problem persists.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, replacing the air filter, inspecting the blades, checking tire pressure, and cleaning the deck after each use to prevent grass build-up.
To replace the blades, first disconnect the spark plug. Then, use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, remove the old blades, and install the new ones, ensuring they are securely tightened.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose parts, or damaged components. Inspect and balance the blades, check for loose hardware, and replace any damaged parts.
To winterize, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, and store the tractor in a dry place. Disconnect the battery and charge it periodically to maintain its lifespan.
