To start the Murray 46250x30A Tractor, ensure the tractor is in neutral, the parking brake is engaged, and the throttle is set to the choke position. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release the key and adjust the throttle.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank has fuel, and verify that the spark plug is clean and in good condition. If these are fine, consult the manual for further troubleshooting steps.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each season, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 oil for best performance.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment lever, usually found on the right side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring both sides are set equally for an even cut.
Before storing, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Inflate tires to the recommended pressure and cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To replace the mower blades, ensure the ignition is off and the tractor is on a flat surface. Use a block to prevent blade rotation and remove the blade bolt using a wrench. Replace the old blade with a new one, ensuring the cutting edge is facing the right direction, then tighten the bolt securely.
If steering is difficult, check for proper tire inflation, inspect the steering components for wear or damage, and lubricate the steering mechanism if needed. Tighten any loose components and ensure the steering wheel is not damaged.
For uneven cutting, check that the mower deck is level and the blades are sharp and properly installed. Also, inspect the deck for any obstructions or damage and ensure the tire pressure is even on all sides.
To clean the air filter, locate the air filter cover and remove it. Take out the air filter and clean it by tapping it to remove debris. If it is excessively dirty, replace it with a new one. Reinstall the filter and secure the cover.
