Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, sit on the operator's seat, set the parking brake, and disengage the blades. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the start position until the engine turns over.
It is recommended to use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 oil for temperatures below 32°F. Always check the oil level before each use.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight, verify that there is fuel in the tank, and make sure the spark plug is clean and properly connected.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each season.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage, ensure the blade engagement lever is properly engaged, and inspect the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch for any faults.
Regularly clean the mower deck to remove grass clippings and debris, check the blades for sharpness and balance, and lubricate all pivot points and spindles.
The front tires should be inflated to 14 psi and the rear tires to 10 psi. Regularly check the pressure to ensure optimal performance.
Sharpen the blades regularly, mow at the recommended height setting, and avoid mowing wet grass to ensure a clean cut.
Check the cooling fins for debris and clean them, ensure the engine has the correct oil level, and verify that the air intake is not obstructed.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
