Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is turned off, and the gear shift lever is in neutral. Then, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or other ethanol blends higher than 10%.
The oil should be changed every 50 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season. Refer to your owner's manual for specific oil type and capacity.
The recommended tire pressure is 14 PSI for the front tires and 10 PSI for the rear tires. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that the fuel tank has fresh gasoline and that the fuel filter is not clogged. Also, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Regularly clean the underside of the cutting deck to prevent grass buildup. Sharpen the blades at least once per season and inspect for any damage. Ensure the deck is level for an even cut.
Check for debris stuck to the cutting blades or under the deck. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance and replace if necessary. Additionally, ensure all bolts and components are securely tightened.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and perform all maintenance tasks such as oil change and blade sharpening. Add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
Ensure that the tires are inflated to the correct pressure. Consider using tire chains or adding wheel weights for additional traction. Always mow up and down slopes, not across.
Ensure the PTO switch is in the 'On' position. Check the belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Also, inspect the PTO clutch and electrical connections for any issues.
